‘I wanted to leave my own mark on the world’

Finding ideas in unexpected places is the theme of Guy Wertheimer’s work. 

For Guy, shoes reveal an intriguing dimension of culture clash, of the modern and the traditional. Pulling inspiration from footwear in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, Guy has always been drawn to the beauty of indigenous footwear. 

Inspired by nostalgic recollections of family days spent on the Mediterranean Sea, Ditza is the result of a desire to replicate those memories, walking through them in the comfort of a perfect pair of shoes. 

Guy's focus is on the longevity and durability of product and design. He immerses himself in the history of craft and design, taking inspiration from skateboard culture to shoes centuries old that have stood the test of time – and wants his to do the same.
